Ibn Sinā

Ibn Sinā
980‐1038
His Latin name was Avicenna. He was also called Avicenna. He was an Islamic philosopher and physician. He was born near Bukhara and died in Hamadan. He showed genius from an early age, and by the age of 18, he was well versed in all academic fields except metaphysics, and was also renowned as a physician. He eventually began studying Aristotle's metaphysics, and eventually completed his own unique metaphysics of existence. As his father was a sympathizer of the Ismailis, he was also sympathetic to the movement. He was acquainted with many nobles, but because of the public's jealousy of his young genius and his relationship with the Ismailis, he sometimes held high positions in the courts of kings and princes, but he lived a life of wandering and in constant danger.
