江戸幕府４代将軍徳川家綱が代替りに伴い諸大名および公家・寺社に朱印状・領知判物(はんもつ)を発給したことをいう。諸大名には寛文４年(1664)に，公家・寺社には翌５年に一斉に発給された。発給を受けた大名219通，公家97通，門跡27通，比丘尼27通，院家12通，寺院1076通，神社365通，その他７通の合計1830通に及んだ。寛文印知により朱印状・領知判物・目録の発行の形式や手続きが整備され，以後将軍の代替りごとに行われた所領安堵の模範とされた。
