A group of islands in the central Caroline Islands in the Western Pacific Ocean. In addition to the main island, Weno Island (formerly known as Moen), there are about 50 other islands, including Dablon, Fefan, Tolu, and Udot, in an atoll with a circumference of about 200 km. There is a good harbor and an airport. After World War I, it became a Japanese mandate territory, and exported products such as dried bonito flakes and copra. After World War II, it became a US trust territory, and in 1982 it became a member of the Federated States of Micronesia. In 1989, it was renamed Chuuk Islands, the local pronunciation. ^{127 km2} . 西太平洋カロリン諸島中央部の島群。周囲約200kmの環礁のなかに，主島ウェノ島（旧称モエン）のほか，ダブロン，フェファン，トル，ウドットなど約50島がある。良港，空港がある。第１次大戦後，日本の委任統治領となり，かつお節，コプラなどを移出。第２次大戦後，米国信託統治領を経て1982年ミクロネシア連邦の一員となった。1989年，現地音のチュークChuuk諸島と改称。127km²。４万8654人（2010）。
