Campidoglio (English spelling)

Japanese: カンピドリオ(英語表記)Campidoglio
Campidoglio (English spelling)
A temple dedicated to the three gods Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, the patron gods of ancient Rome, and one of the seven hills of the city that was the sacred precinct of the temple. Also known as Capitolino. From the Latin Capitolium. Located on the northwest side of the Roman Forum, the city's central square, Roman generals always visited here when they returned in triumph. The temple was built in the Etruscan style in 509 BC and has since been restored many times, including a complete reconstruction in the mid-1st century AD, and the addition of a tabularium (archive) to the east, but its unique plan (what Vitruvius called a "Tuscan" temple) with three cellas (chambers) dedicated to each of the three gods has been preserved as is.
