When detecting radiation from a sample piece using autoradiography, the photosensitive emulsion may darken due to contact with the sample surface even if there is no radiation. This can be caused by moisture in the sample or contact with a metal surface. It is also called the Fotecky effect*, false photographic effect*, or Vogel-Corsson-Russell effect*. In some fields, it is written as the Fotecky effect*. Source: Asakura Publishing Dictionary of Laws Information |
