[1] 〘Noun〙① Komageta made of paulownia wood that courtesans wore when traveling in Edo Yoshiwara. ※Essays, Yanagi-ka Tsushi (1844) The origin of komageta on the road: "In the old days, courtesans in the capital wore zori sandals, but they loved a prostitute named Fuyou from Nakatsukado-machi Hishiya Gon'emon's house, and wore komageta even on the hottest days of the year.〈Omitted〉 These komageta were called Dojima."② An abbreviation of "dōjima geta (Dojima clogs)." ※Shinban Hitokuchibanashi (1839) 4 "The market was bid and bid, and they sold them at Dojima."[2][1] The name of the area on the north bank of the Dojima River, which stretches from the western part of Kita-ku to the eastern part of Fukushima-ku in Osaka. Dojima Shinchi was established in the early Edo period and developed into a prostitute town. In 1697 , the rice market was moved here, and various feudal domains' storehouses were established here, and a rice market was established here, which has been the economic center of Osaka to this day. [1] 〘名〙① 江戸吉原で、遊女が道中の際にはいた桐製の駒下駄。※随筆・柳花通誌（1844）道中長柄傘駒下駄の始「遊女都てむかしは草履をはきしに、中古角町菱屋権右衛門方の芙蓉といへる女郎伊達を好み、道中のせつ日和にても駒下駄をはきし也。〈略〉、この駒下駄を堂島といふ」② 「どうじまげた（堂島下駄）」の略。※咄本・新板一口ばなし（1839）四「相場仕がせり合うて、堂島でたたいた」[2][一] 大阪市北区の西部から福島区の東部にまたがる堂島川北岸の地名。江戸初期に堂島新地ができ、遊女の町として発展。元祿一〇年（一六九七）ここに米市場が移されてから諸藩の蔵屋敷が置かれ、米市がたち、現在まで、大阪の経済の中心をなしている。[二] 「どうじまこめいちば（堂島米市場）」「どうじまべいこくとりひきじょ（堂島米穀取引所）」の略。※雑俳・水加減（1817）「立て置く・日本の脉のうつ堂島」
