Born September 17, 1862. He studied under Kono Bairei of the Shijo school and excelled in bird and flower painting. He won numerous awards at the Domestic Painting Exhibition and other events, and was active in the Kyoto art world. He was a judge for the Bunten Exhibition, a professor at the Kyoto Painting College, and an Imperial Household Artist. He passed away January 18, 1918. He was 57 years old. He was from Osaka.
