[Died] March 27, 1894. British explorer from near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Also spelled Cameron. The first European to cross equatorial Africa. Selected as a member of the expedition dispatched by the Royal Geographical Office in 1872 to seek news of D. Livingstone and to conduct his own exploration. After leaving Zanzibar, learning of Livingstone's death, he went to Lake Tanganyika and explored the southern part of the lake. He then explored the headwaters of the Congo River and the Zambezi River, finding the source of the latter. On November 7, 1875, he finally reached the west coast of Africa near Benguela (now Angola). In 1877, he wrote Across Africa. To the Gold Coast for Gold (1883) was co-written with R. Burton.

A Calvinist theologian born in Scotland and active in France. After graduating from the University of Glasgow, he went to France and served as professor at the Saumur Seminary (1618), rector of the University of Glasgow (22), and professor of theology at the University of Montauban (24). He is considered a pioneer of covenant theology, which emphasizes the relationship between God and humans through the covenant, and is based on Calvinism with a strong humanistic color. His moderate views were opposed by radical Calvinists, and he was stabbed in the street. His main work is These de gratia et libro arbitrio (18), on grace and free will.

[Died] January 26, 1879. A British female photographer born in Kalutara, Sri Lanka. She began taking photographs with a camera given to her by her daughter on her 42nd birthday. Her works include portraits of famous Victorian artists such as Wordsworth, Longfellow, and Tennyson, and she frequently used close-ups to dynamically express the personalities of her subjects, eschewing techniques such as retouching and enlargement.

Cameron (1799-1889), a banker and politician based in Pennsylvania, he succeeded his father as leader of the Republican Party in Pennsylvania. Secretary of War from 1876 to 1877, and U.S. Senator from 1877 to 1897.

Cameron, founder of the Cameronians, a sect of the Church of Scotland. He organized the Covenanters, who believed in the principle of the covenant to protect the presbyterian system of the Church of Scotland, and became their leader. When Charles II broke the covenant, he issued the Declaration of Saint-Quarre (1680) to depose the king, and was killed in battle against the royal army.

Cameron, the chief of the Cameron tribe of Scotland. He became a Jacobite and participated in the Forty-five Years Rebellion. He was wounded at the Battle of Culloden and fled to France.
