Kikyo water - Kikyo water

Japanese: 桔梗水 - ききょうみず
Kikyo water - Kikyo water

For example, the terms "upstream" (west of Kishu) and "downstream" (east of Kishu) come from the direction of the current starting from Kyoto. Also, Kikyo-mizu and Kamikon-mizu (both in the Tohoku region) are named for their similarity in color, while names such as Masio (Mie Prefecture, etc.) and Honcho (Kinan) tell us how important the Kuroshio Current has been to fishermen. There are also other names for the Kuroshio Current, such as Hi no Honcho, Kami no Oki-shio (both in Miyazaki Prefecture), Kita Oki-shio (Sanriku region), and Otoshio (Izu Seven Islands).
