…Odani Castle consisted of Ozuku, the top of a mountain, and the main castle area, which included the Honmaru, Nakanomaru, and Kyogokumaru, which were located on one of its branches. Ozuku was also called Ozuku Castle, and was apparently built as a temporary castle when the Asakura forces based there to provide support to the Azai during the war against Oda Nobunaga. In Shimizudani and Sugatani below the castle, there were the residences of the senior vassals and the residence of the head of the family. …
