[Types and causes of lung abscess]
Depending on the cause, it is classified as follows: (1) Bronchial pulmonary abscess This occurs when blood, pus, food, and other oral debris is aspirated into the trachea, and can occur when blood is aspirated during tooth extraction or tonsillectomy, or when vomit is aspirated during a state of impaired consciousness due to alcohol intoxication, sleeping pill intoxication, or epilepsy. This accounts for more than half of all cases of pulmonary abscess, and is more common in the right lung than the left.
