Mechanical Engineering Measurement

...measurement carried out in various industries for the purpose of rational management of the quality of objects manufactured and processed, resources and energy, or automation of manufacturing processes. It is broadly divided into two fields: process industry measurement, which is carried out in equipment industries such as steelmaking, chemicals, oil refining, and electricity, and mechanical industry measurement, which is mainly involved in processing and assembly, such as the mechanical industry, precision machinery industry, and electronic equipment industry. The history of process industry measurement began in the German steel industry at the end of the 19th century, but measurement in the mechanical industry became established in the 20th century when mass production began with the introduction of parts interchangeability and automation.
