During the Unified Silla period, it was incorporated into Hansanju, one of the Kyushu regions of the country, but in the middle of the 8th century during the reign of King Gyeongdeok, it was changed to Hanju, and the surrounding area became Hanyang County. During the Goryeo period, when the capital was Kaesong (now Kaesong) in the north of Gyeonggi Bay, it was renamed Yangju, but later it changed to Nanjing (where the Goryeo dynasty's secondary palace was located), Hanyangbu, and then during the Yi dynasty it was renamed Hanseongbu. ...
