...One of the six major head temples of the Jodo sect. It is called Sanenzan Kodoin Zojoji, or Enzan for short. It is said to have begun in 1393 (4th year of Meitoku) when the eighth patriarch of the Jodo sect, Seisou, converted the Shingon sect's Komyo-ji Temple, located in Kaizukadai Tsubakuzawa, Toshima County, Musashi Province (currently near Hirakawa-cho, Chiyoda Ward), renamed it Zojo-ji Temple, and made it the central training center for spreading the Nembutsu....
