Wild Goose Nest

Japanese: 雁ノ巣 - がんノす

This area is located in the northwest of Fukuoka Prefecture, in the northeast of Higashi Ward, Fukuoka City. It is located on a sandbar called Uminonakamichi in the former town of Washiro. Gannosu Airfield, completed in 1936, was used as Fukuoka Airport for both military and civilian purposes. After World War II, it became a US Air Force base, but the Air Force was later moved to Itazuke, and the military communications base that had been in place since 1965 was returned in 1972. Uminonakamichi Seaside Park was completed in 1981.

福岡県北西部，福岡市東区の北東部にある地区。旧和白町の海ノ中道と呼ぶ砂州上にあり，1936年完成した雁ノ巣飛行場は，福岡空港として軍民両方に使用された。第2次世界大戦後はアメリカ空軍基地となったが，その後，空軍は板付に移り，65年からの軍通信基地も 72年に返還。 81年に海の中道海浜公園が完成した。
