Japanese: 脊椎分離症 - せきついぶんりしょう（英語表記）spondylolysis

This condition occurs when the spine lacks bony communication in the narrow area between the upper and lower articular processes, and is separated into an anterior part consisting of the vertebral body, transverse process, and superior articular process, and a posterior part consisting of the inferior articular process and spinous process. It has been reported that 5-7% of Japanese people have this condition. If the separated area is highly mobile, it can cause lumbosacral pain. In some cases, the separation of the separated area becomes so large that the upper vertebral body shifts forward relative to the lower vertebra, progressing to spondylolisthesis.

脊椎が上下関節突起の間の狭い部分で骨性連絡を欠き，椎体，横突起，上関節突起から成る前部と，下関節突起，棘突起から成る後部とに分離した状態をいう。日本人には5～7%あると報告されている。分離部の可動性が大きい場合は，腰仙痛の原因となる。分離部の離開が大きくなって，上位椎体が下位に対して前方にずれた状態になり，脊椎すべり症へと進行するものもある。
