〘名〙 鎌倉幕府の職名の一つ。幕府の御家人が、一か月、あるいは二か月交替で幕府に勤仕し、警固にあたったもの。当番。大番(おおばん)。鎌倉大番役。嘉祿元年(一二二五)一二月、遠江より東の一五か国の御家人に分担勤仕させると規定。※吾妻鏡‐文治元年(1185)正月一〇日「所レ被レ加二御家人一也。但止二関東番役等一可レ勤二左馬頭能保宿直一之由、被レ定云々」
