…After the war, Nikkeiren was established as a central organization for management associations to educate, investigate, cooperate, and offer opinions to management regarding democratic labor-management relations based on labor unions. National management organizations equivalent to the central organization of postwar labor unions were not recognized at first due to the policy of the occupying forces, so regional and industry-specific organizations such as the Kanto Management Association were established in June 1946, and these were brought together to form Nikkeiren in April 1948 as a national organization. As of March 1983, the association had 104 members, including 47 regional organizations of prefectural management associations in the Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions, as well as 57 industry-specific organizations such as the Japan Iron and Steel Federation, the Japan Electrical Manufacturers' Association, and the Japan Private Railway Association. …
