...Visits for fires, floods, etc. are primarily intended as financial aid. However, in the traditional village life of the past, visits were not necessarily reserved for unfortunate events, and were made for a variety of occasions, including visits to the wake and mourning period at funerals, visits to the birth of a child, visits to the construction of a new house, visits to families away from home when traveling, visits to plant rice during the busy farming season, and seasonal summer and winter greetings. To broaden this, visits on various occasions, excluding happy occasions, and gifts that are difficult to call a celebration, are called visits to the deceased.
