Otfried
A monk at the Weissenburg Abbey in Alsace, Germany, in the mid-9th century. Also known as Otfrid. Dates of birth and death unknown. His Gospel (c. 870) is one of the oldest works in Germany whose author is named, and is the second most important Old High German document after the Heliant.
