...Rojin-odori is a dance performed by dancers dressed as old men to celebrate the longevity of the country and people, and corresponds to the Okina (old man) of the mainland. Including Kumiodori and Hashiodori, court dances are collectively called Kansen-odori (sometimes called O-o-kanmuri), which comes from the fact that the ship carrying the investiture envoys who came to Ryukyu bearing the crown of the new king was called Kansen. Sanshin songs from before the early modern period are called "Mukashi-bushi" or "O-mukashi-bushi," and the former include "Kyōsaku-bushi," "Shuri-bushi," and "Shoton-bushi," while the latter include "Chaya-bushi," "Naka-bushi," and "Jūnana-hachi-bushi."
