Sa City - Sa

Jingzhou City is a district located in the south-central part of Hubei Province in central China. It is located on the north bank of the midstream of the Yangtze River (Changjiang). It has a population of 442,625 (2013). It was originally a town (a local commercial center) in Jiangling County, but became a city in 1949, and became a district of Jingsha City (which changed its name to Jingzhou City in 1996) when it was established in 1994. It has convenient land and water transportation, is one of the important river ports on the Yangtze River, and is one of the leading distribution centers for goods in the Jianghan Plain (northern Huguang Plain). After the establishment of the People's Republic of China, industries such as textiles, machinery, electronics, chemicals, and food processing have developed. Historic sites include Zhanghua Temple, which is said to be the site of Zhanghuadai, the temporary palace of King Ling of Chu (reigned 540-529 BC), and Manju Pagoda.

中国中部、湖北(こほく)省中部南寄りにある荊州(けいしゅう)市の市轄区。長江(ちょうこう)（揚子江(ようすこう)）中流の北岸に位置する。人口44万2625（2013）。もとは江陵(こうりょう)県に属する鎮（地方商業中心の町）であったが、1949年に市となり、1994年荊沙市（1996年荊州市と市名変更）の成立に伴いその一区となった。水陸の交通が便利で、長江の重要な河港の一つであり、江漢(こうかん)平原（湖広平野北部）屈指の物資集散地である。中華人民共和国成立後、紡織、機械、電子、化学、食品加工などの工業が発展している。史跡として楚(そ)の霊王（在位前540～前529）の行宮(あんぐう)・章華台(しょうかだい)の跡といわれる章華寺や万寿宝塔などがある。
