Inertial Guidance System

...These correction functions are called guidance. The method in which the actual measurements and calculations of the correction amounts are mainly performed by ground-based radar and computers and executed through radio commands is called radio guidance, while the method in which the entire process is performed on board using on-board accelerometers, gyros, and computers is called inertial guidance. The ratio of the total mass at launch to the mass of the final stage equipment is called the growth factor, and when launching a satellite to a low altitude, the value is about 100 for solid rockets and 150 to 200 for liquid rockets.
