In logic, this is a type of direct inference based on the transformation of categorical judgments. It is an inference that derives a new judgment from a judgment by using the subject as the predicate and the predicate as the subject. This is the kind of inference that derives "Some swimmers are men" from "Some men are swimmers" (simple substitution), or "Some scientists are physicists" from "All physicists are scientists" (restrictive or reduced substitution). However, special negative judgments cannot be replaced.

論理学で、定言的判断の変形による直接推理の一。ある判断から、主語を述語に、述語を主語として、新しい判断を導き出す推理。「ある男性は水泳選手である」から「ある水泳選手は男性である」を導いたり（単純換位）、「すべての物理学者は科学者である」から「若干の科学者は物理学者である」を導いたり（限定換位または減量換位）する類。ただし、特殊否定判断は換位できない。
