Benzophenone

Diphenyl ketone. _{C 13} H ₁₀ O (182.22). C ₆ H ₅ COC ₆ H ₅ . It is also called benzoylbenzene. It is synthesized by Friedel-Crafts condensation (Friedel-Crafts reaction) of benzene and benzoyl chloride, or two benzene molecules and one phosgene molecule. There are two forms, stable and unstable. The stable form has a melting point of 49 °C and boiling points of 306 °C and 158 °C (1.33 kPa). 1.087. 1.597. The unstable form has a melting point of 26 °C. Both are crystalline. Soluble in ethanol, ether, and chloroform, insoluble in water. Diphenylmethane or benzhydrol is obtained by reduction. It is used as a fixative for fragrances. It is also used as a raw material for the synthesis of medicines, pesticides, etc. _{LD 50} 2895 mg/kg (mouse, oral). [CAS 119-61-9]

diphenyl ketone．C₁₃H₁₀O(182.22)．C₆H₅COC₆H₅．ベンゾイルベンゼンともいう．ベンゼンと塩化ベンゾイル，あるいはベンゼン2分子とホスゲン1分子とのフリーデル-クラフツ縮合(フリーデル-クラフツ反応)によって合成される．安定形および不安定形の2形があり，安定形は融点49 ℃，沸点306 ℃，158 ℃(1.33 kPa)．1.087．1.597．不安定形は融点26 ℃．ともに結晶．エタノール，エーテル，クロロホルムに可溶，水に不溶．還元すればジフェニルメタンあるいはベンズヒドロールが得られる．香料の固定剤として用いられる．また医薬品，農薬などの合成原料にも用いられる．LD₅₀ 2895 mg/kg(マウス，経口)．[CAS 119-61-9]
