…The first reinforced concrete factory in the United States to use the Ennevik method was built in 1898 by Ernest Leslie Ransome. However, the most famous and influential was Albert Kahn (1869-1942), who designed most of Ford's automobile factories. He developed a system for building large factories in a short period of time, and was invited to the Soviet Union after the revolution to supervise factory construction. In the history of modern architecture, it is said that Behrens' AEG Turbine Factory (1907) is the example of factory architecture that has received high praise, but it was his student Gropius's Fagus Shoe Factory (1911) that established the typical model of factory architecture suitable for modern industry. …

…アメリカでエンヌビク構法を最初に用いた鉄筋コンクリート造工場は，ランサムErnest Leslie Ransomeにより1898年に建てられた。しかし最も有名で影響力の大きかったのはフォードの自動車工場のほとんどを設計したカーンAlbert Kahn(1869‐1942)で，短い工期で大規模な工場を建築するシステムを開発し，革命後のソ連に招かれ工場建設を指導した。近代建築史で工場建築が高い評価を得るのは，ベーレンスのAEG社タービン工場(1907)とされるが，弟子グロピウスのファグス靴工場(1911)にいたって近代産業にふさわしい工場建築の典型が定まった。…
