[Differences from the world view]
The world's problems are questions such as what is the world, why does it exist, what is it like, what place does man occupy in it, where am I, what is the mission assigned to me, and what can I do? Questions such as what is the world and what is man are also questions of what I can and must do. A worldview is thus an attitude toward the world that is linked to a view of life, and is distinct from a "world image" (Weltbild), which takes a position as if looking at the world from the outside. A worldview is an image that analyzes the world and captures the general relationships between recognized things in a unified way, but a worldview is also more than that; it expresses the "meaning" of the world for oneself, and is closely linked to one's way of life.

　世界の諸問題というのは，世界とは何なのか，どうして存在するのか，どのようになっているのか，その中で人間はいかなる位置を占め，自分はどこにいるのか，自分に課せられた使命は何で，自分にできることは何なのか，などの問いであって，世界とは何か，人間とは何かの問いは，自分に何ができるか，何をしなければならないのかの問いでもある。世界観はこのように人生観と結びついた世界に対する態度であって，世界を外から眺めるかのような立場をとる〈世界像Weltbild〉とは区別される。世界像は世界を分析し，認識された諸事物の一般的関係を統一的にとらえたイメージであるが，世界観はそれだけでなく，世界の自分にとっての〈意味〉を表現し，生き方と密接に結びついたものである。…
