A major American oil company engaged in refining crude oil and wholesaling petroleum products. It started in 1936 as Caltex Petroleum Corp., a 50-50 joint venture between Standard Oil of California (later Chevron) and Texaco. In 2001, Chevron acquired Texaco and the company was renamed ChevronTexaco, and in 2005 it was renamed Chevron Corporation. The company is one of the international oil companies known as the supermajors.

原油の精製と石油製品の卸売りを行う米国の大手石油会社。1936年，スタンダード・オイル・オブ・カリフォルニア（後のシェブロン）とテキサコの折半出資によりCaltex Petroleum Corp.としてスタート。2001年シェブロンがテキサコを買収，シェブロンテキサコに社名変更，2005年シェブロン・コーポレーションに社名変更した。同社はスーパー・メジャーと呼ばれる国際石油資本の一角を占める。
