Karuga culture

...It is a Levallois-type flake culture (called the Epi-Levallois type) in contrast to the blade cultures of the Kapsa culture in North Africa and the Late Paleolithic culture in the Levant. At the same time, cultures with local characteristics appeared in various places, such as the Epi-Levallois culture in the Fayoum, the Levallois-Kharga culture in Kharija and the subsequent Kharga culture, and the Sebil culture in Upper Egypt. The Sebil culture, discovered on a 3m terrace near Kūm Ambū (Kom Ombo) in Upper Egypt, is divided into three periods, and from the middle period onwards there is a clear tendency towards microlithic tools.
