It is also called breakbone fever because of the severe muscle and joint pain, and dandy fever because the joint pain causes the patient to walk in a pretentious manner. The fever lasts for 2-3 days, and after a period of subsidence, the fever returns after about 2 days, showing a biphasic pattern, and then a few days later the fever subsides (rapidly subsiding with profuse sweating), but some types of the disease do not show a biphasic pattern. ...
