Korean Blacksmith Club - Karanokanuchibe

The name of the blacksmiths who came from Korea, that is, the group of blacksmiths who had new imported techniques. As opposed to the Yamato no Kanuchibe. The earliest example is in the Ojin section of the Kojiki, where it is said that a man named Takuso, a hand-forger of Korea, came as tribute from Baekje. Many more people came after that, and they were distributed throughout the provinces of Yamato, Omi, Tamba, Harima, Kii, and Sanuki. Some of them obtained official ranks, were allowed to change their surnames to Japanese, and some even accumulated great wealth as governors of districts, so the distinction between Korea and Wa gradually became unclear.

韓土(かんど)渡来の鍛冶部、すなわち渡来系の新技術を有する鍛冶職集団の称。倭鍛冶部(やまとのかぬちべ)に対する。『古事記』応神(おうじん)段に、手人韓鍛(てひとからかぬち)名は卓素(たくそ)なる者を百済(くだら)から貢上した、とあるのが早い例で、以後数多く渡来したらしく、その分布は大和(やまと)、近江(おうみ)、丹波(たんば)、播磨(はりま)、紀伊、讃岐(さぬき)の諸国に及ぶ。これらのなかには官位を得たり、日本姓に改姓を認められたり、郡の大領（長官）として巨富を蓄えたりする者も現れたから、韓・倭の別もしだいに不分明となった。
