A feudal lord in the early Edo period. Lord of Aizu-Wakamatsu Castle (Fukushima Prefecture). The eldest son of Ujisato, his mother was the daughter of Oda Nobunaga. Born in Omi Province (Shiga Prefecture). His childhood name was Tsuruchiyo. He initially called himself Hidetaka. In 1595 (Bunroku 4), he inherited his father's estate of 920,000 koku in Aizu, and came under the guardianship of Tokugawa Ieyasu and Maeda Toshiie. He served as the governor of Hida and a chamberlain. In 1598 (Keicho 3), Aizu was confiscated due to a dispute between senior vassals, and he was transferred to Utsunomiya in Shimotsuke Province (Tochigi Prefecture) with a reduced fief of 120,000 koku. In the Battle of Sekigahara in 1592, he joined the eastern army and guarded Utsunomiya Castle, and the following year he was awarded 600,000 koku in Aizu again. Around this time, he changed his name to Hideyuki. In 1597, he was given the surname Matsudaira by the Tokugawa clan. In the 14th year, there was a dispute between Hideyuki's close aide and a senior vassal from Ujisato, and a family dispute broke out, but Ieyasu arranged for him not to be stripped of his title. He died in Aizu. According to the Todai-ki, Hideyuki was a heavy drinker, had bad manners, and was a dissolute person.
