Kamiya Bar

Japanese: 神谷バー
Kamiya Bar
A long-established bar in Asakusa, Taito Ward, Tokyo. Founded in 1880 as "Mikahaya Meisu-ten," selling sake by the glass. In 1882, they developed the liqueur "Quick Brandy," which would later become their signature product "Denki Brandy." In 1912, they renovated the bar in a Western style and changed its name to its current one. The names of the bar and Denki Brandy can be seen in the works of authors such as Dazai Osamu, Ibuse Masuji, and Miura Tetsuro. The reinforced concrete building (Kamiya Building), completed in 1921, is a registered tangible cultural property of the country.
