[Born] Tenbun 21 (1552) [Died] Kanei 17 (1640) A painter of the Kano school from the late Momoyama period to the early Edo period. Also known as Shoan. A grandson of Utanosuke, the younger or older brother of Kano Motonobu, he lived in Kyoto together with Naganobu as guardians of Yasunobu. There are many unknowns about his painting activities. He is thought to be a different person from Kano Shoan. His representative work, the "Shokuninzu" pressed-paper folding screen (Kawagoe Kita-in), is famous as a genre painting.
