…In contrast to special days, ordinary days were called ke (ordinary), but this word quickly fell out of use, and everyday kimonos are now called jūjūgi, fudan-gi, or noragi. In some regions, kimonos worn on special days were called setsu-go (in the Tohoku region), bon-go, shogatsu-go, or matsuri-go (in Wakayama, Hyogo, Okayama, and Kagawa), and also miya-mai-go (for newborns) (in Okayama), kanetsuke-go (for daughters) (in Gifu), yomeri-go (for weddings) (in Okayama), and yaku-go and iwai-go (for New Year's celebrations) (in Kagawa, Tottori, and Okayama). “Go” refers to kimono. …
