Zatzkin
A sculptor who worked mainly in France. Born in Smolensk, Russia. Moved to England in 1906, then Paris in 1909. Influenced by Cubism and Negro sculpture, he expressed primitive vitality in a new form. His famous memorial statue for Rotterdam, destroyed in World War II (1954) is well known.
