He was born on October 15, 1712. In 1713, he became the second head of the Kanamori family, lords of Hachiman Domain in Mino (Gifu Prefecture). He served as a soshaban (a court official), but in 1765, he was found guilty of mismanagement, including uprisings, which had lasted for four years, and his territory was confiscated, and he was placed under the lifelong custody of Nanbu Toshikatsu, lord of Morioka Domain.
