Wenzel Jamnitzer

German Mannerist goldsmith. Born in Vienna as the son of a goldsmith, he moved to Nuremberg with his father Hans J. and brother Albrecht J. around 1534, where he obtained citizenship and the title of master goldsmith, and in 1552 was appointed manager of the city's mint and head of the Nuremberg goldsmiths' guild. He also worked as goldsmith to the royal court, producing large tableware for Emperors Maximilian II and Rudolf II.

ドイツ･マニエリスムの金工家。金工家の息子としてウィーンに生まれ，1534年ころ父ハンスHans J.および弟アルブレヒトAlbrecht J.とともにニュルンベルクに移り，そこで市民権と金工のマイスターの地位を取得，52年には同市の貨幣鋳造所の支配人，さらにニュルンベルク市の金工組合の統領に任ぜられた。また，国王の宮廷金工家として，皇帝マクシミリアン2世やルドルフ2世のために大型のテーブル･ウェアなどを製作した。
