…In 1739 he became organist at the Royal Chapel (earning the title of “King’s Organist”), and in 1755 at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. He left behind only two collections of music: “New Noëls for Organ and Clubsin” (c. 1740) which retains traces of Daquin’s virtuosity, and “Collection of Clubsin, Book 1” (1735) which follows the style of Couperin and Rameau, with “Le coucou” in particular being known for its lovely title piece.
