Today's circus acts include clowning, tightrope walking, foot tricks, shoulder tricks, ladder tricks, chair tricks, acrobatics, trampolining, bicycle tricks, ball juggling, motorcycle tricks (iron haul), animal tricks, clown tricks, and more. There are about 20 types of tricks performed in a two-hour performance, making for a rich variety of acts. Clowning is a general term for trapeze acts, and includes the one-seater trapeze, which uses a one-seater swing to perform various tricks, the two-swing trapeze, which uses two or three swings to perform tricks, the big one-swing trapeze, which uses a special swing that swings more, the ring clown trapeze, aerial flying, and pipettes.
