〘Noun〙 ("Great" means the original source that permeates everything and is the foundation for all things) A Buddhist term. Generally, the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind are explained, while in esoteric Buddhism, the five or six elements are explained, making it one of them. An element that makes up all things along with earth, water, wind, space, and consciousness. Its true nature is warmth, and it is said to have the effect of maturing. *The Meaning of Sokushinjobutsu (around 823-824) "The pure and pure dust is the great fire."
