Family register - Kazokubo

...the supervisory authority is an administrative authority. There are four types of personal registers: the marriage register (Heiratsbuch), the family register (Familienbuch), the birth register (Geburtenbuch) and the death register (Sterbebuch). The marriage register is prepared by the civil service registrar for each marriage he solemnizes, in the presence of the couple and witnesses, and is registered and signed by them.
