Kasenso - Kasenso

A perennial plant of the Asteraceae family (APG classification: Asteraceae). The stem is slender, stiff, 60-80 cm tall, and rough with short hairs. The leaves are stiff, alternate, lanceolate, pointed at the tip, and have fine serrated edges. The veins on the underside of the leaves are clearly visible. From July to September, the upper part of the stem branches and several flower heads open upward. The flower heads are yellow and 3-4 cm in diameter. The ray florets are slender and numerous. It grows in sunny wetlands from Hokkaido to Kyushu, and is also distributed in Korea, northeastern China, and Siberia. The basic variety is distributed in Europe, and the stems are almost hairless.

キク科（APG分類：キク科）の多年草。茎は細長く、堅い感じがあり、高さ60～80センチメートル、短い毛があってざらつく。葉は堅く、互生し、披針(ひしん)形で先がとがり、縁(へり)に細かい鋸歯(きょし)がある。裏面の葉脈ははっきり浮き出ている。7～9月、茎の上部が分枝して、数個の頭花を上向きに開く。頭花は黄色で、径3～4センチメートル。舌状花は細長く、多数ある。北海道から九州の日当りのよい湿地に生え、朝鮮、中国東北部およびシベリアにも分布する。基本変種はヨーロッパに分布し、茎に毛がほとんどない。
