The first dramatization was the Kyoto Hotei-za's "Kashiyu Sakuraga Yatsuchi no Daruma" in 1712 (Shotoku 2), which was followed by the Osaka Kado play "Asakusa Miracle Record" (written by Chikamatsu Tokuzō) in May 1797 (Kansei 9), which reconstructed the story against the backdrop of the family feud between the Hosokawa and Akita families and became a huge hit.
