The Fire and Disaster Management Agency's White Paper on Fire and Disaster Management categorizes fires into building fires, forest fires, vehicle fires, ship fires, aircraft fires, and other fires (fires caused by dry grass in vacant lots or on banks, signs, etc.) based on the object being burned. Of these, building fires have accounted for more than 60% of fires in recent years.
