A school of maki-e artists in the Edo period. Since the master maki-e artist Hikobei served the Tokugawa family around the Kanbun to Tenna era (1661-1684), his disciple Kujiro became his successor and made a name for himself with his elaborate inro maki-e. Later, his descendants and their school were active alongside other schools such as Koami and Koma, and their works were called Kajikawa maki-e. Among those belonging to this lineage were Bunryusai, Yoshiro, Tsuneju, Yoshinobu, and Seizaemon, whose names were mainly written on inro, but there are no detailed biographies of them.
