This refers to the military forces under the guerrilla corps in the Tang and Five Dynasties periods in China. The character "Fang" is related to "Ya" and is also written as "Yagun". Since the top of the military flag was decorated with ivory, the military flag was called "Fangqi" and the military was called "Fanggun". In the Song dynasty, the policy of civil rule led to the reduction of the Fang Army's power by promoting the strongest soldiers among the Fang Army to the Imperial Guard soldiers directly under the Emperor.
