Carbonyl - karubonir (English spelling) carbonyl

(1) This is the name of the divalent atomic group =O. A compound with two hydrocarbon groups bound to this group is called a ketone, and a compound with a hydrogen atom and a hydrocarbon group bound to it is called an aldehyde. In addition, carboxylic acids and amides also have carbonyl groups.

(2) When carbon monoxide (CO) is the ligand, the name of the ligand is carbonyl. For example, Ni(CO) ₄ is called nickel tetracarbonyl, or simply nickel carbonyl. When carbon monoxide coordinates with a metal, the resulting compounds are collectively called metal carbonyl complexes, which are sometimes simply called carbonyls. Other metal carbonyls include iron pentacarbonyl (Fe(CO) ₅ ) and dicobalt octacarbonyl ( _CO2 (CO) ₈₎ .

(1)2価の原子団=Oの基名である。この基に二つの炭化水素基が結合した化合物をケトン、水素原子と炭化水素基が結合した化合物をアルデヒドという。このほかに、カルボン酸、アミドなどもカルボニル基をもつ。

(2)一酸化炭素COが配位子となる場合の配位子名としてカルボニルを用いる。たとえば、Ni(CO)₄はテトラカルボニルニッケル、または単にニッケルカルボニルとよばれる。一酸化炭素が金属に配位すると、金属カルボニル錯体と総称される化合物になるが、これらを単にカルボニルと略称することもある。他の金属カルボニルとしては、鉄ペンタカルボニルFe(CO)₅、ジコバルトオクタカルボニルCO₂(CO)₈などがある。
