Born: July 4, 1893 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa [Died] December 30, 1989. A Noh performer of the Suginami Konparu school of taiko drumming in Tokyo. He was trained by Yasui Sanji in his hometown of Kanazawa, and made his debut in 1914 in "Kokaji." In 1916 he moved to Tokyo and studied under the 21st Konparu Soemon (Kunitsugu). In 1928 he premiered "Dojoji." In 1965 he received the Minister of Education's Art Encouragement Prize. In 1968 he was recognized as a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure). He was a licensed pharmacist and ran a pharmacy while devoting himself to the arts.
