A Nichiren sect monk in the early Edo period. A central figure in the Fujubuse sect. The 16th head priest of both Ikegami and Hikiyama. Born in Kurosaki, Bitchu Province (Okayama Prefecture). He studied at Iidaka and Nakamura Danrin, and was promoted to the 7th head priest of Iidaka Danrin. In terms of doctrine, he belonged to the Kanto school of Fujubuse, centered around Nichio, and was in conflict with the Kansai school of Fujubuse, including Honmanji Nichiju and Minobu Nichikan. After entering Ikegami in 1619 (Genna 5), he tried to restore Honmonji, but in 1630 (Kan'ei 7) in a dispute over juju and fuju within Edo Castle, he represented the Fujubuse sect and was defeated by the Kansai school of the establishment, and his teacher Nichio was "posthumously exiled" and Nichiju was exiled to Iida in Shinano. After Nichiju was exiled, Ikegami Honmonji was incorporated under the establishment. <Works> "Fujubuse Gonjo" <References> Miyazaki Eisho, "The Origin and Development of the Fujubuse School"
